When the Cleveland Cavaliers played the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, March 30, 2012, they suffered one of their worst losses of the season. The Cavs are on a tough losing streak and are losing some games that they should have simply won. Cavs' owner Dan Gilbert had something to say about how his team is playing recently.
Gilbert posted on Twitter: "One of those nights where I can't find the words to match the emotions [at least non-profane words]. Cavs fans deserve better. Much better."
We all know that Gilbert is infamous for posting his true feelings on Twitter. Just think back to when LeBron James, "took his talents to South Beach."
We Cleveland fans are a very loyal bunch. Whether it is our Cavs, Browns or Indians making us cry, we still give them our undivided support and our hearts. We - at least I - do not like to hear Dan Gilbert say such things about this team, but I also know that he is right.
The Cavs have lost so many games that they could and should have won. Just think about how many times we were ahead and then blew it in the fourth quarter (channeling LBJ perhaps). Or, there are times where we play rather bad for the first three quarters and then rally in the fourth to just fall a few points short of a win.
There is no doubt that we have some major talent here in Cleveland. Individually that is. When you put these guys together, the talent they have as individuals seems to soften, and in some games, just downright disappear.
We can blame the loss of Ramon Sessions or the fact that Anderson Varejao is injured, but we were making the same mistakes with these two men on the court.
I don't know what the Cavs can do, but I know that they need to do something. Gilbert maybe needs to make more of a presence in the locker room. Something has to set a fire under this team, that is one thing we know for sure.
