Bobby Petrino Placed on Administrative Leave from Arkansas: Fan's Take - Yahoo! Sports

By Hobson Lopes, Yahoo! Contributor Network

Before I begin, let me just make it known that I am have so much hatred and disrespect for Bobby Petrino for what he did to the Atlanta Falcons. Despite that, I never want to hear about anyone being injured, which is what happened with Petrino last weekend. The Harley-Davidson Petrino was operating skidded off the road, with Petrino being injured with four broken ribs and a cracked neck vertebra.

Now that alone was bad enough news for Petrino, but the latest information to come from the crash was that a women half his age was riding on the back of the motorcycle. The woman, 25-year-old Jessica Dorrell, was hired at the school by Petrino to be the student-athlete development coordinator. Her responsibilities include organizing the recruiting process for the football team, including initial eligibility for incoming players.

During a press conference earlier this week, Petrino, who is married and has four children, said that there was no other person on the motorcycle at the time of the crash. Upon learning that there was more to the story than Petrino put on, the school placed their coach on paid administrative leave.

With the fact known that Petrino will be fine health wise, now is the time for me to enjoy the fact that he has again showed why he is one of the worst coaches in the nation when it comes to trust. When he went to the Atlanta Falcons in 2007 to coach, he was supposed to have Michael Vick at quarterback, but that was the offseason that the news broke about Vick's role in the illegal dog-fighting ring that sent him to prison.

He went 3-10 through the first 13 games of the season and in a late-night press conference, joined the Arkansas Razorbacks. Most Atlanta fans found out about his abrupt exit from the team by watching the press conference on ESPN, leaving terribly bad tastes in our mouths. At that press conference, he took part in the Razorbacks chant, which left me feeling disgusted. Not only did he leave the Falcons without finishing the season, he left the team because he couldn't cut it in the National Football League.

I will never wish sickness or injury upon anyone, but for me, Petrino and Maryland head coach, Randy Edsall are at the top of my "whatever happens, happens" list. If you are not man enough to tell your team that you are leaving and instead let the internet and television let them know, you don't deserve to lead any team, let alone a collegiate program.
