Hicks: 'Hunger Games'' District 12 for sale - San Jose Mercury News
Apr 5th 2012, 18:14

A serious "Hunger Games" fan can now buy District 12 for $1.4 million -- or approximately the amount of money the movie made while you read this sentence.

Henry River Mill Village, the abandoned North Carolina mill town where "The Hunger Games" filmed its sepia-toned District scenes, is now available for purchase. Owner 83-year-old Wade Shepherd is understandably overwhelmed by the number of Hunger Games tourists flooding the town and so he wants out. You know, $1.4 million sounds like a good deal for 72 acres and a cluster of very famous rundown buildings. A "Hunger Games" amusement park full of seriously dangerous attractions could make someone a fortune.
