Wizards vs. Pacers: Game 54 discussion thread - Washington Post (blog)
Apr 4th 2012, 22:30

The Wizards continue a difficult stretch of games tonight at Verizon Center against the Indiana Pacers — the first of three games in three nights. They will play the Pacers for the third time in as many weeks, and they have lost the previous two games by a combined six points.

The last time these two teams were at Verizon Center on March 22, the Wizards blew a 22-point lead and lost 85-83 in Nene's home debut. The Wizards squandered an eight-point second-half lead in Indiana last week, before losing 93-89. Jordan Crawford is averaging 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games against the Pacers this season.

Washington needs to win at least three more games to avoid setting a new franchise mark for futility in a season. (Click here for a graphic illustrating the team's highs and lows over the years.)

And the Wizards will be playing tonight without the injured Nene and Trevor Booker again. Kevin Seraphin and Jan Vesely will start for the third game in a row. In the past two games, they have combined for 55 points and 21 rebounds but the Wizards have lost both games.
