Tim Tebow mania has moved east. Now the New York Jets will have to figure out what to do with one of the most highly-paid backup quarterbacks in the NFL. The New York Times reports Tebow is back where he started—as a backup in an underperforming team. The Jacksonville Jaguars were hoping for a hometown discount. Instead, Tebow opted to take his brand of Christianity to the Big Apple.

If and when Tebow gets to the big stage in the AFC East, he will face the same problems he did in Denver. Eventually, teams will figure out how he works. Plus Tebow now plays in the same division as Tom Brady, the three-time Super Bowl winner. Perhaps you've heard of him.

Tebow's moving to another division is good for the AFC West but bad for the Denver Broncos. Peyton Manning is damaged goods. His throwing motion has been AWOL for over a year as he recovers from neck surgery. There are plenty of risks that came along with getting rid of a perfectly healthy quarterback who is the future of a franchise for an aging veteran who may or may not perform on the field again.

Manning claims he's healthy. That's great. Until he gets sacked, we'll see how he holds up. The rest of the teams in the AFC West should be thanking Manning that he went to Denver. The Oakland Raiders play like thugs and will try to get to Manning on every play. The Chiefs have great pass rushers and a solid secondary that is young and fast. The San Diego Chargers have a decent quarterback of their own that can compete with Manning.

I find it hard to believe that John Elway, a miracle worker himself in Denver, would brazenly trade away the future of his franchise as part owner. Tebow already knew the system. There would be no learning curve this year. Instead, Manning will have to learn an entirely new offense in a system that hasn't had much playoff success since Elway was a player.

I predict the Broncos will tank early and often in the 2012 NFL season. At least that means a better draft pick for Denver in 2013. No matter how good a passer Manning is, without the personnel around him the Broncos won't do much. It takes a team to win a Super Bowl. The Broncos already knew that when Tebow could only take them so far last season. Manning won't be much better.
