The 2012 Duncan Lake Hillclimber Open took place in Duncan, Oklahoma at the Duncan Lake West Disc Golf Course over the weekend of March 31-April 1, 2012. With 180 disc golfers coming out to compete in this PDGA sanctioned B and C-tier tournament, it was Mitch McClellan of Norman, Oklahoma who was crowned champion in the men's open division with a final score of 17-under par.

McClellan dominated the division coming in six strokes ahead of the second place finisher. He had a second place finish at last month's Mother Road Classic, and in 2011 he had several wins in the masters division, including the Twister Flyer Open and the last year's Duncan Lake Hillclimber Open.

Following in second place this weekend, was Matt Steward with a final score of 11-under par, while Kody Custard finished in third place scoring 6-under par. Larry Gardner and Jason LaPierre took fourth and fifth place respectively.

Danielle Vargas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma won for the women in the open division with a final score of 34-over par. Vargas had a first place finish at the Live Oak Summer Open last July. She was followed at second place by Megan Burch of Newalla, Oklahoma.

Tony Shirley of Arlington, Texas commanded the masters division, capturing first place with a final score of 16-under par. He had a win in the open division at the Port City Icebowl in January. Clint McClellan followed in second place scoring 3-under par.

John McClellan of Oklahoma City won the grandmasters division scoring 5-over par and Kyle Powers of Norman, Oklahoma followed in second place with a final score of 9-over par.

The advanced division win went to Steven Hatcher of Mustang, Oklahoma, who took the victory in overtime after he and Joseph Stenninger of Oklahoma City both finished with a final score of 3-under par. River Sky Eagle of Norman captured third place scoring 2-under par, while James Kuhn and Dillon Vallance finished in fourth and fifth place respectively. Kristen Chandler was the winner in the advanced division for the women with a final score of 40-over par.

Scoring 23-over par, Mike Moore of Edmond, Oklahoma won in the advanced masters division, while Nancy Burklin captured the victory for the women in the division. Jack Banks won the advanced grandmasters division with a final score of 5-under par and Derek Dimond took the victory in the intermediate division scoring 2-under par.

Finally, it was Edwin Phelps, Jr. who won the recreational division, with Amber Prosser winning the division for the women and Desiree Duran who captured the victory in the under 13 girls division.
