The final round of the PBA Doubles Championship was held on Sunday, Mar. 25, and Sean Rash would once again go home without a title. Sean Rash has been one of the most consistent bowlers all season, but he has not been able to find a way to win a tournament this season. The only other bowler on the PBA tour that has as many championship round appearances as Rash is Jason Belmonte, but Belmonte has been able to win three titles this season. This was the 6th time this season that Rash has made the championship round of a tournament without being able to win the title.

Sean Rash and Ronnie Russell were the number one seed after the qualifying round of the tournament, which means that they would automatically advance to the championship match on Sunday. Rash and Russell got to watch Norm Duke and Wes Malott advance through to the championship match. Rash and Russell may have been at a slight disadvantage because they had not bowled prior to the title match, but they did not do themselves any favors during the match. Rash continued his poor bowling on television, and the team would open three of their first four frames. This put Duke and Malott in a huge lead that they would not give up the rest of the match.

Sean Rash was not helped out that much by his partner, but this is still a disturbing trend for a great bowler. I have to give Rash some slack because it did not appear that he was bowling bad due to the pressure. Rash just did not look comfortable on the lane at the beginning of the match, and was finally able to throw some decent shots in the final frames.

Rash will have four more chances to win a title this season. If he is able to take home a title in one of those four tournaments, then everyone will forget his early troubles on television.

Jake has been an avid bowler since the age of 8, and regularly watches the PBA telecasts each week.
